Eight Kobe Bryant Quotes for 2021

We bid 2020 goodbye and welcome 2021 with you, SOVEREIxN fam!
In a few days, the world will be celebrating a memory that has sent shockwaves of grief and sadness to many families, friends and fans. On the 26th of January 2020, the world faced one of the most shocking, painful loss of its time: The sudden death of Kobe Bryant, his 13-year old daughter Gianna, and several other passengers of a helicopter on flight to Gianna’s basketball game in Thousand Oaks, California.
Bryant is legend. Helping the Los Angeles Lakers win five championships and dominating All-Star selections and MVP awards. He was an all-time Laker for 20 years until his retirement in 2016. Outside the court, he was a loving and beloved husband to Vanessa Bryant, doting father to their daughters, and a philanthropist this world had.
This January 2021, we wanted to remember—not with pain, but with victory—the life and words of The Black Mamba.
Here are eight quotes from The Black Mamba himself for us to live on this 2021.

“The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do”

“Once you know what failure feels like, determination chases success.”

“I’m reflective only in the sense that I learn to move forward. I reflect with a purpose.”

“My parents are my backbone. Still are. They’re the only group that will support you if you score zero or you score 40.”

“If you’re afraid to fail, then you’re probably going to fail.”

“If you want to be great at something, there’s a choice you have to make. What I mean by that is, there are inherent sacrifices that come along with that. Family time, hanging out with friends, being a great friend, being a great son, nephew, whatever the case may be.”

“We can always kind of be average and do what’s normal. I’m not in this to do what’s normal.”

“It’s the one thing you can control. You are responsible for how people remember you—or don’t. So don’t take it lightly.”

Kobe Bryant did not take it lightly, and so he will be remembered as The Black Mamba legend he was. Take on 2021, fam. Tread on this 2021!
